Additional Information:
Dr. Viola Monaghan earned her medical degree from Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, PA followed by a family practice residency at Williamsport Hospital, Williamsport, PA. After residency she pursued her interest in obstetrics and surgery by completing an obstetrical fellowship at Harrisburg Hospital, Harrisburg, PA. She moved to upstate New York as a National Health Service Corp scholar.

Her interest in the treatment of venous disease began during her residency and continued through her fellowship training. During her years in obstetrics and family practice she encountered many patients with venous disease and her interest in treating these disorders prompted her to pursue further education in this specialty. Dr. Monaghan began her formal training in phlebology in 1998.

She later joined the American College of Phlebology and established a mentoring relationship with Dr. Henry Train at The Vein Center of Central PA. In addition, she trained with Dr. J.C. Agostini and Dr. G.E. Ferrer at Northeast Surgical Group. Experience included ultrasonography and Doppler imaging, exposure to extensive venous pathology and a complete program in vein care including sclerotherapy, laser therapy, ambulatory phlebectomy, PIN stripping and endovenous laser procedures.

Dr. Monaghan joined the Vein and Laser Centers of Central New York during the summer of 2003. Her interest in aesthetic medicine was a result of joining the practice and she began formal training in aesthetics at that time.
