Tammy Walrath worked as a licensed practical nurse for two decades in a variety of settings in Cortland County. She is an upstate native and received her Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, NY, in 2018. She took part with events in the Syracuse refugee community in her role as Diversity Chair for the Master’s in Physician Assistant class of 2018. In that class, she also shared the highest honors with another student to graduate at the top of their class. Earlier, she graduated from the State University of New York at Cortland with a Bachelor of Science degree in the community health program. Her special area of interest in health care is to reduce risks and improve outcomes for patients with chronic lung disease.
