Dr. Uphoff entered medical school at the University of Minnesota and graduated with her doctor of medicine at age 24. She began her pediatric residency at Stanford University, completed it at Children’s Hospital in Oakland, and then spent a year in Accra, Ghana, where she served as a pediatric resident. She returned to California to earn a master of public health degree in maternal-child care at Berkeley and complete the second year of her pediatric residency, before moving east for her final year of residency at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse. Dr. Uphoff, who is board certified in pediatric medicine, also serves as the medical director for the Ithaca City School District.
