The Cayuga Medical Center’s Diabetes Education Program

At Cayuga Medical Center, we take diabetes very seriously: it’s the sixth leading cause of death in the United States and can lead to heart disease, stroke, blindness, and kidney failure.

We want to help you learn to successfully manage your diabetes. Our team of experts can help you make important lifestyle changes to avoid some of the acute and chronic complications of this disease.

Our Diabetes Self-Management Education Program is certified by the American Diabetes Association and is team-taught by certified nurse educators, registered dieticians, and pharmacists who are very experienced and knowledgeable. Classes are held at the Island Health Center.
