Pulmonary Medicine: Inpatient Care and Outpatient Testing

In support of pulmonary medicine (related to diseases of the respiratory system), Cayuga Medical Center offers pulmonary function testing for both inpatients and outpatients.

·         Services include lung capacity studies, lung volumes, oximetry studies, diffusion capacity studies, arterial blood-gas testing, and methadoline challenge.

·         Respiratory therapists also provide ventilator support, chest physical therapy, ultrasonic nebulizer treatments, and 24-hour support to the medical center’s Intensive-Coronary Care Unit and Level II Special Care Nursery.
