Cayuga Medical Center Offers In-Bed Massage for Patients through partner Rasa Spa

April 14, 2014, Ithaca, NY - Cayuga Medical Center is pleased to be able to provide specially trained Rasa Spa massage therapists to patients who will go to their bedside and give comfort massages based on the needs of the patient. In-bed massage is available to any patient on request by patient, family, CMC staff or physician regardless of the type and severity of their condition.

There are many healing benefits of massage: for injury recovery, releasing muscle tension, increased range of motion increased flexibility, promoting relaxation, removal of waste products, decreased soreness and tightness, helps speed up recovery time after surgery or injury, helps to alleviate pain, managing anxiety and depression, promoting rest and sleep. Family members and/or staff can go to the Rasa Spa designated area on the visitor entrance level for a massage as well. There is a fee for service.

Rasa Spa, a partner of Cayuga Medical Center, is the only full-service, holistic healthcare spa actively cultivating wellness in the Finger Lakes region. Encompassing a wide range of natural, healing therapies and treatments, Rasa's aim is to bring each client toward optimal, whole health.
