February 20, 2009 – Ithaca, New York- Cayuga
Medical Center has exceeded its $2 million goal for the Campaign for Emergency,
Cardiac and Critical Care that was launched over two years ago. $2,030,000 was
raised by the generous support of the community.
The CMC goal was achieved after the Triad
Foundation stepped forward with an additional gift that helped close the
campaign gap. Triad
Foundation, Inc. is a family foundation based in Ithaca. The values which drive
the philanthropic mission of Triad reflect the desire of its donor, Roy Hampton
Park, to encourage Americans to take advantage of the opportunities offered by
their country. Triad’s grant making moves forward his commitment to democracy
and free enterprise, to religious liberty and freedom of thought, and to broad
access to education and employment. Its community-based grantmaking
is concentrated in Central New York, Charlotte, NC and Tampa, FL.
“It
was wonderful that the Triad Foundation helped us achieve our goal. We were
able to go over our goal due to the Triad Foundation and other donations that
were received at the end of the year,” said Andrew Sciarabba,
Campaign Chair.
Speaking for the Triad Foundation Board, Roy Park,
Jr. noted, “It is essential that our community maintain and enhance the
health-care services offered by Cayuga Medical Center. We know that good health
is the foundation for learning and increased productivity, and the completion
of this particular campaign insures that residents of Tompkins County can
receive high-quality critical care in a local setting.”
The campaign was launched to help renovate the
Emergency Department and Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Cayuga Medical Center
as part of a 40,000 square-foot expansion.
“We are very grateful to the many community members
that donated to this campaign and especially to the Triad Foundation for their
very generous support,” said Rob Mackenzie, M.D., Cayuga Medical Center
President & CEO.
