At Cayuga Medical Center Sports Medicine and Athletic Performance, we understand that most of you are quite busy and we want to meet your needs as efficiently as possible.
Therefore, if there is a question about an existing medical problem that you would like to ask Dr. Getzin, you can email him
at agetzin@cayugamed.org. We do not charge for this service (unlike many
other practices). However, we ask that the total time on our end stay within 5 minutes.
We limit our email correspondence to one email after your scheduled office visit.
If we do not feel that we can properly
address the problem in a reasonable time or an exam is warranted we will ask that you come in for an appointment. Remember, email
can never replace face-to-face contact.
It usually takes Dr. Getzin a day to respond to an email. He usually will not respond after 5:00 pm or on weekends. If there is an
urgent problem, please do not wait for a response. Either call the office, (607)-252-3580 or if significantly urgent, go to the
Emergency Department.
If you have non-medical questions for the staff at Cayuga Medical Center Sports Medicine and Athletic Performance, you may
email them at sportsmedicine@cayugamed.org. Appropriate topics
for communication include confirming appointments, release of records, insurance and billing questions.
Emails in general are not inherently secure. Therefore, if there are any concerns on your part we ask that you choose another form of communication. In addition, we consider emails as part of your medical chart. In fact, we will cut and paste them directly into your electronic record.
When emailing CSM, please include your name, date of birth, and telephone number on all messages so that we may confirm your identity. This service is only provided for established patients.
