Additional Information:
Dr. Brand joined the medical staff in 2001 as medical director of the Cardiac Catheterization Program, which was initiated that same year. He has also served as medical director of the new Cayuga Heart Institute in 2010. He has advanced training in nuclear cardiology, echocardiology, and cardiac catheterization. He is certified to implant automated internal cardiac defibrillators (AICD) to help patients suffering from dangerously abnormal heart rhythms.

Additional Information:
Dr. Maghaydah joined the medical staff and Cayuga Cardiology in 2005, coming to Ithaca from the Rochester Heart Institute. As an invasive cardiologist with full privileges at RHI, Dr. Maghaydah was an effective liaison between the two institutions as they established a very important affiliation and laid the groundwork for the Cayuga Heart Institute's percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) service.

Dr. Mauser joined the medical staff of Cayuga Medical Center in 1994, bringing new expertise in transesophageal echocardiography, stress echocardiography, and pharmacologic stress echocardiology. He worked closely with Cayuga Medical Center administration and the Cardiac Services team to establish one of the first freestanding Cardiac Catheterization programs in New York State. Dr. Mauser is actively committed to community education about risk factors for heart disease and the signs and symptoms of heart attack. He has been a leading advocate for increasing the availability of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in Tompkins County. Dr. Mauser is the founder of Cayuga Cardiology.

Additional Information:
Dr. Singh is the medical director of the Cayuga Heart Institute. He joined the medical staff and Ithaca Cardiology Associates in 2003. With specialized training in cardiac catheterization, nuclear cardiology, and transesophageal echocardiography, Dr. Singh enhanced the team of invasive cardiologists at Cayuga Medical Center performing cardiac catheterization. He worked closely with Dr. Drew Koch of the Emergency Department to develop the Cayuga Medical Center STEMI team, a rapid-response team focused on immediate assessment and treatment of patients with heart attack. This was an important step in preparing to offer PCI services at the Cayuga Heart Institute.

Dr. Stefek is the medical director of Interventional Cardiology for the Cayuga Heart Institute at Cayuga Medical Center. He has been practicing interventional cardiology since 1988. Dr. Stefek relocated to Ithaca from Youngstown, Ohio, in 2010, to join Ithaca Cardiology Associates and to initiate the interventional cardiology service at the Cayuga Heart Institute.

She subsequently earned board certification in echocardiography and under her direction the Cayuga Medical Center Echocardiography Laboratory became accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories (ICAEL).
