BMI Calculations
BMI is a useful measure of overweight and obesity.
It is calculated from your height and weight.
BMI is a good gauge of your risk for diseases that can occur with more body fat.
The higher your BMI, the higher your risk for certain diseases such as heart disease,
high blood pressure and diabetes, to name a few.
BMI Categories:
Underweight = <18.5
Normal weight = 18.5-24.9
Overweight = 25-29.9
Obesity = 30-34
Morbid Obesity = 35 or greater*
* 35 or greater when associated with comorbidities; 40 or greater even without comorbidities
